Leogate Estate Wines

Hunter Valley, New South Wales

Leogate Estate Wines is a quality Australian wine producer with two owned vineyards, Brokenback Vineyard on Broke Road, Pokolbin and Zeals Vineyard in the Mudgee District, and both a modern Winery and a Cellar Door Complex situated on Brokenback Vineyard. As well as the Leogate Estate Cellar Door, the complex contains a restaurant, Villa du Pays, and a Function Centre.

Leogate Brokenback Vineyard was originally established by Len Evans’ Rothbury Holdings in the 1960’s.  Bill and Vicki Widin purchased Brokenback Vineyard in 2007 in 2 separate parts (from Fosters and Tyrrells) and re-established the old vineyard.  Over the years the vines have produced premium wines which have been sold under a variety of labels.

Since the 2013 vintage, Leogate purchased Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from a well-regarded vineyard at Gulgong in the Mudgee District. With a continuing demand for the wine styles made from these red grapes, Bill and Vicki Widin purchased this vineyard in 2016 and renamed it “Zeals Vineyard”. Zeals Vineyard has over 200 acres under vine.
